In June 2020, I announced on Twitter that I was leaving NDTV after nearly 21 years to become an Associate Professor of Journalism at Harvard University. I thought it was a fantastic opportunity. But now, almost eight months later, I'm devastated to learn that the entire process of "hiring" me; my "appointment" to Harvard was all part of a sophisticated phishing attack to gain access to my bank account, personal data, emails, medical records, passport, and devices such as my computer and phone. I wanted to write this post to explain what happened to me and to hopefully teach others a lesson.
